Questions, including the ones we would rather not be asked

If something here is unclear, ask us on X at @bobibirdcoin. We would rather answer it publicly than have you guess.

Getting started

What do I need to start?

Ten dollars and a way to pay it. Either connect a Solana wallet — Phantom, Solflare or Backpack — or sign in with an email address and one is created for you. The game opens in mid-October 2026.

Do I need to understand crypto?

No. If you sign in with email you never see a seed phrase, and you can export that wallet later if you want to. A Bobi is meant to be minted as a real NFT to that wallet, yours and not ours — that mint is the last part still being built, so nothing is on the chain yet.

What am I actually buying?

An egg. Three days later it hatches into a bird you did not choose. Every drop rate is published before you buy.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes, and most people will. You can also feed your Bobi straight from a Telegram message without opening the site at all.

Caring for a Bobi

How much time does it take?

A minute or two of tapping, at set times. You pick the hour it eats, and from 90 days old it eats twice a day, six to nine hours apart. The hard part is not the minutes but being on time, every day.

What if I am late?

Inside the hour is full points. The next hour is half. After that, none, and your streak breaks.

What if I go on holiday?

Buy the seven-day feed, or the three-day one, which works the same way. Your Bobi stays alive and healthy, but its streak does not grow, and the pack covers feeding only: in competitions those days still count but score no feeding points, and cleaning and the daily task still need doing, so a holiday on a pack costs points. Or give it to a friend: the transfer is free, but they cannot hand it back for seven days, and taking it back starts your 30 days of ownership for competitions again.

What happens if I stop entirely?

Hungry, then weak, then sick — and after seven days it goes to the shelter. It does not die. Half its locked tokens are burned, and another player who has spent at least $10 in the game can adopt it for free.

Can I get a Bobi back from the shelter?

Not straight away. For the first seven days only other players can adopt it; after that you can take it back yourself, if nobody else has. Adopting is free, but it needs at least $10 already spent in the game, and you can adopt one Bobi every 30 days. An adopted Bobi cannot be sold for 30 days, or bred or cashed out for 180. Its looks and medals stay with it. Its streak does not, and the half of its tokens that was burned is gone.

Trading

How do I sell?

Cashing out works today; listing does not. A listing is refused for any Bobi that is not on the chain, and nothing is minted yet, so until that mint is connected no listing can be created at all and the marketplace cannot be used. Cashing out is not gated that way. The two ways, as they will be. Cash out instantly: the Bobi is gone for good, its accessories come off and stay yours, and you get the tokens locked inside it minus an exit fee set by the Bobi's age, not by how long you have owned it: 30% up to seven days old, 15% up to 30 days, 8% up to 89 days, and 3% from 90 days old. Or list it at your own price for eight hours. A listing costs $0.10, burned, and again if you relist. If it sells, 5% of the price goes in fees (3% burned, 2% to the treasury), the rest goes to your $BOBI balance, and the tokens locked in the Bobi go to the buyer with it. An egg cannot be sold or cashed out.

Why would anyone buy my Bobi?

For the part they cannot do themselves: its age, its record, and whatever the egg happened to give it. Money they can spend on their own egg.

Can I sell the accessories separately?

You can cash one out on its own: it is burned, and its own locked tokens come back to your balance less an exit fee counted from the day that accessory was made, not from the Bobi's age. Or send it with a Bobi: when you list a Bobi you choose which equipped items go with it, whatever is shown is exactly what transfers, and the whole bundle is locked while the listing is live. Listing an accessory by itself is not offered anywhere in the game, and no listing of any kind can be created yet — see "How do I sell?" above — so cashing out is the only way to turn an accessory back into tokens today.

Are there bids or offers?

No. The seller sets a price and that is the price. A listing lasts eight hours and then expires.

Competitions

When are they?

Four a year, and the December one is the largest. The first is in April 2027: the game opens in mid-October 2026, and the first Bobis reach the 180-day age limit in mid-April. Nothing pays a prize before then. An event that closes earlier is a showcase and pays no prize, because nothing is old enough to qualify: it is scored, its leaderboard is published, no medal is given, and its whole share rolls into the next event rather than being lost. The exact date of every event will be published before the game opens.

Who can enter?

Every adult Bobi — 180 days and over — will be entered automatically, if it also passes five other checks: it is not in the shelter, it has not been cashed out, it was out of the egg and out of the shelter for at least 60% of the days in the period, you have owned it for at least 30 days in a row, and your weekly share-link target was met in three weeks out of four. All six are spelled out on the prizes page.

Can I just buy a good Bobi before a competition?

Not just before. The score belongs to the Bobi and goes with it when it is sold, but the prize only goes to an owner who has held it for at least 30 days in a row, and buying restarts that count from zero. So a Bobi bought a week before an event pays its new owner nothing, however high its score. Buy one at least 30 days ahead and it can count — though the seller can see its score and will price that in, so you are paying for somebody else's months of work.

Is there a limit on how many I can enter?

No. Somebody with five hundred Bobis has spent five hundred times as much, and through 2027 a prize is capped at twice what was spent on that Bobi anyway. The weekly share-link target does grow with the number of Bobis you enter.

Will I win something?

Probably not. Most players will not. Prizes are funded only by fees the community has actually paid, they are never guaranteed, and through 2027 each one is capped. The prizes page has the rules.

Token

Do I have to hold $BOBI?

For now, yes. Every price is set in dollars and paid in $BOBI from your game balance, so you top that balance up with $BOBI. Paying in SOL or USDC, converted to $BOBI in the same transaction at the same dollar price, is planned and is not built, so do not count on it when the game opens.

What happens to the money I spend?

It splits four ways. 60% is locked in your Bobi as $BOBI: if you cash the Bobi out you get those tokens back, less the exit fee, and if you sell it they go to the buyer with it. 20% is burned. 10% runs the game. 10% goes to the prize wallet. The token page has the detail.

Who holds my tokens while I play?

We do, and you should know that before you start. $BOBI you deposit into the game, and whatever a cash-out or a sale pays you, sits in a custody wallet we operate until you withdraw it. Withdrawals go only to your own linked wallet, with a $1 minimum and at most $500 in any 24 hours, and they pause for seven days after you change wallets. The tokens locked in your Bobis sit in a separate pool wallet we also operate. We never hold your SOL, your USDC or your keys. The risks page says what that means if something goes wrong.

Can more $BOBI be created?

No. Mint authority was switched off inside the transaction that created the token on 20 September 2026, and no freeze authority was ever set. Both are on the chain for you to check rather than believe us.

Is there a presale?

No. $BOBI launched on a bonding curve on 20 September 2026, before the game — the game follows in mid-October 2026 — and nothing was sold before that day. But half the supply is released to one published address when the bonding curve completes, and will be sold privately after that, possibly below the market price. Each buyer will be named on the token page as it happens.

Why did the token launch before the game?

We chose to launch it first, on 20 September 2026. Until the game opens in mid-October 2026, $BOBI cannot be used for anything. Do not buy it expecting it to be worth more when the game opens: we make no promise about its price, and it can fall to zero before or after. The risks page says more.

The uncomfortable ones

Can I lose money?

Yes. Tokens locked in your Bobi are returned in tokens, not dollars, and only if you cash it out, less the exit fee. The dollar value of those tokens can fall, all the way to zero, and there may be times when nobody is buying and you cannot sell at any price. Do not spend money you need. The risks page goes through the rest.

Is this an investment?

No. It is a game with a token in it. We make no promise of a return of any kind.

Eggs are random. Is that gambling?

You are paying for a random outcome, so treat it that way. Every rate is published in full before you buy, everything needed to check a roll afterwards is published with the Bobi (the reference verifier that redoes the arithmetic for you is still to be written), and you must be 18 or over to play.

Who is behind this?

The team is pseudonymous — you will find us on X as @bobibirdcoin. That is why the prize, treasury and private-sale addresses have been public since the day the token launched, why every private sale will be named on the token page, and why every drop rate and rule is published before the first egg is sold. Where that is not enough — half the supply will sit behind one key, and your tokens in the game are held in wallets we operate — the risks page says so. Judge us on what you can verify.

What if the project shuts down?

Say the uncomfortable half first: a Bobi is not on the chain yet. The mint is built and not connected, so until it is, a Bobi is a row in our database and a shutdown would take it with the game. Once a Bobi is minted, it is an NFT in your own wallet and stays there whatever happens to us — that is the whole reason for minting it. Tokens are different either way: those locked in your Bobis sit in a pool wallet we operate, and your $BOBI balance sits in a custody wallet we operate, both recorded in our ledger. Returning them would depend on us doing it — nothing on the chain forces it. We would announce a shutdown in advance and say plainly what happens to all of it.
