Prizes & competitions

Four a year, and spending more cannot buy a single point

The score comes from care: feeding on time, keeping your Bobi clean, doing the daily task, holding a streak, and never letting it get sick. Accessories add nothing to it.

How a score is built

One hundred points, all of them from turning up.

40
Fed on time
20
Kept clean
15
Daily task
15
Streak
10
Never sick

There is also a small bonus of up to 10 points for bringing other players, each of whom has to spend at least $10 of their own and look after a Bobi for 30 days before they count: +1 for five of them, up to +10 for a hundred. It counts on only one of your Bobis, the one with the highest score, and it can never waive a qualification requirement — a Bobi that was not cared for is out regardless of how many friends its owner brought.

When they happen

Showcase event — no prizes. Any event before April 2027That quarter only, for the leaderboardNothing. Its share rolls into the next event
Quarterly event, three a yearThat quarter only15% each
Annual event, in DecemberThe whole year55%

Each event closes at midnight UTC at the end of its date. Its share is taken from whatever is in the prize wallet when the results are computed, about 40 hours later, once every time zone’s last day has closed. Entry will be automatic: every Bobi that qualifies is in, with nothing to sign up for and no limit on how many one person enters.

None of this has run yet, and the first event is eighteen months away. The scoring and the payout are written — the gates, the bands, the December age ladder, the 2027 cap and the rollover are all in the database, and no prize can be paid except through them — but nothing runs them on a schedule yet. That job has to exist, and be tested, before an event can be scored at all.

The first competition is in April 2027. The game opens in mid-October 2026, and a Bobi has to be 180 days old to enter, so the first Bobis are old enough in mid-April 2027. Nothing pays a prize before then. The exact date of every event will be published before the game opens. We would rather tell you that now than after you have bought an egg.

An event that closes before then is a showcase, and it pays no prize. Nothing is old enough to qualify yet, so there is nobody to pay. It is still scored and its leaderboard is published in full, but no prize is paid and no medal is given. Its whole share stays in the prize wallet and is added to the next event’s pool, so none of it is lost.

Who qualifies

At the moment an event closes, a Bobi is entered only if all six of these are true. The referral bonus cannot waive any of them.

  1. It is an adult: at least 180 days old.
  2. It is not in the shelter.
  3. It has not been cashed out.
  4. It has been out of the egg and out of the shelter for at least 60% of the days in the period: for example 56 of a 92-day quarter for a quarterly event, and 219 of the year’s 365 for the December event. Days on the three-day or seven-day feed count towards that 60%, but they score no feeding points.
  5. You have owned it for at least 30 days in a row. Buying it, adopting it or being given it starts that count again from zero.
  6. In at least three quarters of the full weeks you owned it during the period, your share link was opened by enough other people: ten a week if you enter one Bobi, twenty if you enter two to four, and more as the number grows — a hundred a week for a hundred Bobis. Each person counts once a week, from their own device, and only if they stay five seconds. Your own clicks never count.

Buying a good Bobi just before an event does not work. Its score goes with it when it is sold, but the prize only goes to an owner of 30 unbroken days, and buying, adopting or being given a Bobi starts that count again at zero. A Bobi bought a week before an event therefore pays its new owner nothing, whatever it scores. A player who joins late can wait for their own Bobi to grow up, or buy a grown one at least 30 days ahead — and the seller can see its score and price that in.

How the prize is split

ScoreShare of the event's poolSplit
96–100%70%Shared between everyone in the band
91–95%20%Shared between everyone in the band
81–90%10%Shared between everyone in the band
Below 81%Nothing—

In the three quarterly events, everyone in a band receives an equal share. In the December event, older Bobis receive a larger share of their band: ×1 from 180 days old, rising by 0.25 for every further 180 days to a limit of ×2.5 at 1,260 days, with days spent in the shelter not counted. Age only changes how a band is shared. It never changes the score, so it cannot lift a Bobi into a higher band.

A band that nobody reaches pays nothing, and its share stays in the prize wallet for the next event. Through 2027 the cap below can also leave a winner with less than their share.

Where the money comes from

Ten percent of every purchase anyone makes in the game goes to a prize wallet. It is a public Solana address, published on the token page since the day the token launched, so you do not have to take our word for the balance — you can look at it.

There is no seed: we have not put any tokens of our own into it, and nothing has been paid into it yet, because the game has not opened and nothing has been sold. It will hold only what play has paid in, so the first competitions will be small. We would rather say that than make them look bigger than they are.

The 2027 cap

Through 2027 a prize is capped at twice what was spent on that Bobi, and never more. Anything a band would have paid above that cap rolls into the next competition instead.

“Spent” means everything paid into the game for that Bobi — the egg itself, feed, cleaning, medicine, the doctor and breeding — not only the part locked in it. An accessory counts only if the Bobi is wearing it at the event and has worn it without a break for the 30 days before. The price a buyer pays another player for the Bobi does not count, and nor do listing, sale or exit fees. The cap belongs to the Bobi, not to you: three Bobis, three caps.

This is a ceiling, not a promise. When the pool is small next to what the winners spent, everyone receives well under it. Most players will not receive anything at all.

Medals

Every Bobi in a winning band gets a medal: gold, silver or bronze. It is a permanent mark on the Bobi’s record. Medals cannot be removed and they cannot be sold separately — they travel with the bird, through a sale and through the shelter. A buyer looking at a Bobi with three medals does not need to read anything to know what they are looking at.

That record is the game’s own. Writing a medal into the Bobi’s on-chain metadata as well is planned and not built, so for now a medal is permanent in the sense that we never take one away, not in the sense that Solana remembers it for us. Nothing hangs on the difference inside the game, and you should still know which one it is.

A showcase event gives no medal. Nothing is won there, and a medal every Bobi could have would say nothing about the one wearing it.

What we will not tell you

Prizes are funded by fees the community has actually paid. They are capped, not guaranteed, and most players will not win one. BobiBird is a game, not an investment.

There is no return here to promise, and any page on this site that implied otherwise would be a page we had to take down. What can go wrong is set out on the risks page.
